Recipes for Christmas | A Meal That You Can Make Quickly So You Can Enjoy The Festivities

The best way to make sure that you can enjoy your day on Christmas and not spend the whole day in the kitchen cooking while everybody else is having fun is to use a little by planning.

There are many things that you can make ahead of time and store in the freezer or seal in Ziploc bags and refrigerated.

Set the table the day before Christmas with a nice tablecloth, stacked dishes, and silverware and have the glasses already on the table. If you want to have a nice centerpiece for your Christmas meal be sure to have it a ready couple of days before Christmas so you won't have to spend the time on Christmas doing it.

It is not necessary to put out a complete sit-down meal like on Thanksgiving. Why not make a nice buffet style meal with ham sandwiches, a tray of vegetables, chips and dip, cake and pie, nuts and a nice fruit salad.

First, you want to make your shopping list in advance for all the items you want to include in your buffet. You can cook the ham in the day before Christmas and slice it for sandwiches, and put it in a Ziploc bag.

You can purchase frozen yeast rolls and put in a pan in the morning and by noon that we ready to put in the oven so you can serve fresh rolls for the sandwiches.

You can cut up your vegetables including broccoli, cauliflower, carrot sticks, celery sticks in any other vegetables you enjoy and put each vegetable in its own Ziploc bag the day before Christmas. You can also make the pies and cakes a day or two for Christmas and refrigerate them.

If you get most of the meal ready a day or two for the holiday, then on Christmas day you can make a quick fruit salad, but at the vegetables in a tray, whip up a nice vegetables dip, pull out the cakes and pies and slice them, and just finished up any items that could not be pre-prepared.

By preplanning your holiday meal, you can get everything ready in an hour or less and have plenty of time to enjoy visiting with family and friends.
