Fresh vs Fake: Your Christmas Tree Options
Many people choose to buy a fake Christmas tree because it is reusable year after year and can save them money rather than having to buy a new tree every holiday season. Some would contend that buying a real tree can be expensive but that’s not always the case. There is a greater number of options with artificial trees, many come with lights already installed which eliminates a need to buy strings of lights that can get tangled in the branches. Others like the consistent look that an artificial tree provides or that it is easier to hang Christmas tree decorations on, in particular expensive glass ornaments. These days about half of all households choose a fake one over real trees.
Fresh living trees are still extraordinarily popular among families. Many have developed traditions when it comes to picking out their Christmas tree for the year. While most simply choose their tree from a lot, others make a journey into the snowy forests to pick one out and cut it down before hauling it home. Many others like the smell that a fresh pine tree gives throughout the home. It triggers happy memories of trimming the tree with Christmas tree ornaments and lights or opening presents from underneath the tree. These are good moments that lend themselves to picking a fresh pine tree. A smaller demographic will choose a potted plant which they can later plant in the yard. You can’t do that with an artificial tree.
Whether you choose a fake tree or a fresh tree the choice is up to you and your family. What counts is that you have happy memories of a beautifully covered tree filled with Christmas tree decorations. Whatever you decide, it should be the tree that brightens Christmas morning and the holiday season as a whole.
